  • ok guys...i know that many people have said this and it had annoyed even myself (before I actually tried facebook), but the truth is, facebook has much more intuitive design to it than does xanga or myspace, and none of the WWW predators and creeps will come after you on there, unlike here. so lets be smart and give facebook a try. besides, it dominates more lives and therefore, you will normally get instantaneous feedback to your comments, updates, etc...which makes it just that much more interesting and fun than waiting a day for responses.

and now that you can join without an invitation from anyone, there is really no excuse.

  • who needs homecoming when you have...NEW YORK!

thought you might want to know about the trip..there just hasnt been much time this week.

    so here we are.

    getting there:
flight delayed 3 hrs, it was so late that all the stores closed so we couldnt get food/drinks...was my first time on a jet blue--the seats are real nice and roomy, and they actually have a choice of snacks/drinks (instead of the all-soda variety). 5 hr sleep.

    thursday:
it was 10am Eastern when we landed, and another HOUR until we got to the hotel. on this map, i saw the hotel was ~10-15 miles from the airport but traffic was horrible.
only had one room available at the time=orgies/nap on 2 beds, xbox on the 3rd bed.
run at central park--pretty nice weather.
dinner and watched SPAMALOT in the theater district!

    friday:
CBS studios for the team broadcast. the free "breakfast" provided was lame: twinkies, cookies, bad pastries. then went to: ground zero, chinatown, times square, 5th avenue. pasta feed at the apartment complex of a gunn alumnus.

    saturday:
JV girls left in morn for the race at van cortlandt park. nice cool temps, wasnt as sweaty as usual. it got real windy by the time varsity girls were racing, but they still got 5th or something. went to times square again for dinner at the HARD ROCK CAFE, then the hershey's factory--I got a bar of 99% cacao chocolate, it was very bitter; maybe ill make cookies out of them next week...

    going home:
free morning--some people went to the MET (museum), the museum of nat hist, or the flea market, the whereabouts of which i have no idea. other people stayed at the hotel to do hw (=me), and went for another run at central park.
had to leave at 2pm for our 6 oclock flight! (???). my wallet dropped under the seat when we were leaving to board...luckily i decided to buy dinner before going, and just happened to have this hunch about my wallet being under the seat. the woman serving the pasta that i wanted was really slow and i made it just 4 minutes before takeoff.

...but then there was a 2 hour delay b/c we were the "heaviest flight in the history of jet blue". so they made 4 people get off to take another flight. and so all of us were sick kids getting 4 hours of sleep after some mad NY fun.

About Me

  • Running, skating, biking and swimming are bound to expose the most weak, morale-less, human side of even the best of us. And those who come out successful and victorious? Well, those are the most superhuman of all.
